    Ultimate turbo for 400-440hp?

    Hey!

Ive been thinking about this issue for a while. There is a lot of experienced folks in this forum, so I would gladly listen what you have got to say about that. As we all know there is a plenty of KKK 27/26/29 whistles around but most of people are saying that those turbos are ancient history. So, please share your experiences and tell which nowadays turbo can spool up as quickly as RS2 did and produce 400+hp? If anybody have recommendation about the manifolds as well to get this result, please do.

    Thanks for your attention!

    Marko

That might be a silly question but then why 2871 and 3071 don't spool up as quickly as rs2 turbo?

According to this picture that's not the case.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there something missing from that chart re: spoolup time? There is no "time" stamp on the x-axis. Meaning, that turbo A provides peak torque at 3300rpm, and turbo B provides peak torque at 4500rpm, but turbo B hits 4500rpm in 3 seconds, where turbo A hits 3300rpm in 3.5 seconds.

Do you know what I mean?

Don't believe that 034 graph, it's all done on their chipset tuning.

Compare the graphs of other setups on here with better tuning and you'll see those figures posted on there are well low in comparison.

id go for the 3076 to be honest!! haha

same money and more power(or less boost to reach the 400+mark).as for the spool time...you get used to it.... 3500-4000rpm 500rpm is a small difference!

Well, all I want to know is there a turbo that can produce +400hp and spool up like rs2 whistle? What considers 500rpm later spool up, I know the difference. I have had different turbos, so have my friends but none of them know turbo that I'm looking for? Maybe its because there isn't one?

if you are so strict about it,then yes it is very difficult to achieve that, unless you have possibly a fully ported head, large exhaust to reduce backpressure, free flowing inlet manifold(reverse too) as well as tubular manifold to be able to get a 2871 turbo possibly, and push it hard and just get the 400hp you want, and have about the same spool.

However since those ballbearing turbos are surging like hell it is very very tricky, and maybe impossible to achieve that.
Even the 3071R can spool almost the same as the rs2 turbo, but it surges quite a bit down low if the rest of the motor is stock.
I know mine did quite a bit and we had to reduce the boost down low to get it right. Now it spools around 3500rpm and barely surges. If i go WOT after 3000rpm it almost doesnt surge at all

                      Go for ct350.

With journal bearing I think it should be able to challenge the rs2 turbo. Still gave 400hp with 1.4 bar in almost stock 3b.

                      990 eur plus shipping.

So it's a T04E T3/T4 hybrid with ballbearings for $1600. Interesting but would require new EM I guess for the T3 flange. Good to see alternatives though. There's also Turbo Dynamics. D Jones is running one of their turbos.
