Yeah youve really gotta puch it down quick to get that overboost to kick in. It's a bit annoying if you ask me. Cant wait till i save up for homefries, i want more boost all the time.

WGFV sounds plausable. I'd defo double check that the WG spring is standard? Does anyone know the dimensions of a standard spring to help him identify if its stock?

Get it back to standard, there's no gains on a k24 car for having an uprated WG spring and the ECU isn't designed for it. Best to have the car standard so that you can trouble shoot at times like this. Without knowing the base boost it's difficult to identify what's wrong. Does the boost at higher rpms 6500-7500 drop off, should be about 0.6bar at the rev limiter on a stanadard WG spring, anything more and the stock ECU won't be happy although it might cope.

Overboost is a funny one. To gaurantee it you really need to press the accelerator down fast, stomp on it and you need to be less than about 3k rpm in 4th or so. Most aftermarket chips dispense with it as it's a complete waste of time and a marketing gimmick, why would you ever want less than 11?
When I brought the car I was informed there had been some remap work done (an AMD chip was mentioned IIRC) but other 'sources' have informed me it has not been chipped...as it was only reaching 1 bar not the usual 1.4 bar....

The boost does drop the higher the revs (around the figures you have mentioned)...
and backs down to 0.6 bar-ish...

I don't tend to "stomp" on the throttle as it doesn't feel right...
it can get 1 bar and gives the grin factor but then has this "I cannot be bothered to play to day" feeling and won't......

cheers Vas for the offer and I would be gratefull for any help tips etc...

i had a photo of the spring a while back when i bought a new one but now as it has been...screwed in,it sits lower than the original state and that makes it smaller.
