Easily 400bhp... The 034 boys hit 330whp on it with smaller injectors and higher FPR on pump gas... Its on motorgeek I think.

Its easy to get blase about the numbers but at 6000rpm a K24 is blowing about 0.9-1.0bar max whilst the 2871 is singing along at 1.6bar... The wave of torque is mighty impressive. Pretty laggy if you setup boost profile as per the compressor map - but Des gave me the green light to find the surge point - so it drives great in the mid range. It is NOT one of these binary turbos when setup like this.

There are only 10 kinds of people that understand binary - those that do, and those that don't

basically with my setup im runnig 650cc with the standard pump. i can see the DC rising all the way and 100% by around the 5500 mark. with factory injectors (s2) i saw 100% at 4krpm.

still running ok but im gonna put a pump in over christmas. im going to run a Holley FI pump inline after the factory in-tank. should do the trick. i hope.

I would suggest to just throw a 044 in the tank and call it a day.
The 044 pump in my RS2 easily supports 400hp at the wheels on E85 (requires 30-40% more fuel than petrol) It is being fed by 14.3V. 3.6bar fuel pressure, 630cc injectors. AFR in the high 11's.

how do you get such a small turbo to hang on. ported exhaust side?

having had a few experiences of big turbo conversions what i tend to find myself and others is that they think that their smaller turbo was holding on to say 6k until they try a bigger variant and then instantly change their mind.

turbos are about compromise after all.

so what do you think the 2871 is capable of Paul?
Yeah no worries. If I had the money then I'd love to find out Tuning the k24 is cheap so suits me for now. The flywheel made a big difference to perceived performance, as did a decent exhaust setup. It produces nearly 300bhp from 5.5k to 6.5k. This is an old graph, before the FW but you can see what I mean, the real dip is just after 6.5k and with some better flow (as I now have) it does hold on longer. Airbox helped too although that could just be more noise

I would love to fit the 044 pump, but from what i was told it involves dropping the diff, suspension, subframe to get to the tank. No thanks! Its a urs4 advant. Unless anyone knows different? I have 2 044 pumps sitting about waiting for my URQ project so i can nab one of them.

But i run 99% of the time on LPG so fuel pump isnt such a big problem. I have enough gas to feed 700hp lol.

Never heard that before! I'm about to fit mine and as far as I'm aware you just fit it from the above hatch like the S2s. There's no way you should have to go through all that to change a fuel pump!

Any idea what gear the graph on page 1 was done in? Compared it to my k24 graph done in 3rd and the spool is identical apart from the gt2871 just keeps going!

Des, do you have any pics of your intercooler? is it in the stock location or front mount, what size is it?

No Pictures, must try and snap some when at Pauls for more mapping in Jan. Its 600x300x80mm. Its front mount. I use one of those "rs4" look bumpers. Was a real pain to fit the bumper, but its a good job now.

Im not sure what gear the graph was in, the car wasnt going right during those runs. MUCHO stronger now....

Yea no cats also. Its a 93 car lol

Merlin, let me know how you get on with fitting the pump and what parts you needed. Cheers, des.

Why on earth did the operator dyno your car in 3rd gear and not 4th?

My mistake, it was 4th we tried a few things but the power run was in 4th...
