Just installed one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/Top-Quality-Oxyg...1%7C240%3A1318
on a 2.0E equipped 80 Avant. At less than £20 including shipping across the North Sea, I had little to lose. It is a universal type, so i cut, soldered and heat shrinked the leads and connectors from the original lambda sensor (survived 260K on this car). The replacement works great, rapidly fluctuating between approx 0.1v and 0.8v as it should. I've previously had a bad experience with a no name sensor from Biltema (Scandinavias Halfords, sort of) that would give nuts values under slight load. The one from England works great, been checking the values with VAG-Com during driving.
