Im posting this for a mate with an S2, lately he has a problem with the car that when it warms up when he puts his foot down the car violently jerks around going up the revs, chuckin and spitting it seems......
Anyone have a problem like this before or any help of what it could be would be great.... Cheers... Tom
Yep he says after 20 to 30 miles when its well warmed up...... If he puts his foot on the throttle easy its grand only when he tries to overtake and puts his foot down hard....
A hot favouite would have to be an air leak in one of the hoses (can be a fine crack, often underneath, in any of the hoses).
Are the temp gauges showing ok?
There are finer minds than mine who will be along in a minute to share their knowledge. There's so much on an s2 that can cause problems.
Do you or he have access to vagcom diagnostic software?
Where are you? One of the forum members may be able to help out with a scan to see if there are any error codes.

the air intake temp sensor on top of the inlet manifold can be a funny buggr. Pull back the rubber boot and check the wires aren't broken. I previous had one of these snap but within the heat shrink so even with the rubber boot off it looked ok until i gave it a gentle wiggle.
The problem I had was the car wouldn't start until it had turned over enough to put a bit of heat into the engine though.
Scanning for error codes is definitely the first thing to do though. Search the forum for blink reader. you can make a simple reader to get blink codes on an LED if nobody nearby has vagcom. Works a treat.
Good luck

You really need to have the error codes read by an LED reader or better still a laptop with VAGcom.
My bet is a boost leak, which as Noel, Fourcircle has already pointed out could be an air leak on the inlet.
You need to check all the large and small rubber hoses that are used in the intake system. Don't forget there are small ones that run to the ECU and it could be any of them. A holed intercooler could also do this.
Search for "Boost leak" and you will find loads and loads of advice.
First and foremost you need the fault "codes" otherwise you could be chasing the wrong symptom.

Mine did something similar last night. if i put my foot down heavily the car would jerk violently at about half boost. Turns out it was a boost protection mode. it reset when i turned the car off and on again 10mins later. and then it was fine. It can be a number of electrical items cause this. VAG com is your best bet. it will give you an idea of what to check.
