    Injector question

I've bought some injectors that were thought to be RS2 spec for my RS2 conversion. I've just done some research on them and so far this is what I can find:

    380cc/min at 3bar with a 16.5 to 18ohms impedance made by Lucas

I know the RS2 injectors are 440cc/min but is that at 3.8bar or 3.0?

If it's at 3.8bar then I guess these 380's are useable?

Thankyou oh gurus of all things 5 cylinder

So it sounds like they could well be useable. Better have a word and see if Paul can cater for them.

Nuhh... Proper Bosch GREEN are rated for 440cc at 3bar (43.5psi in old money as the standard pressure for quoting these things).

An ABY/AAN FPR is nominally 4.0bar so you need to do quick math for flow rate at that higher pressure.

These lucas jobs might be usable in a conversion but different fuel map will be required if it doesn't perform exactly like RS2 / Bosch green injector...

If you look on line you'll see lots of references to Bosch Green - either rated as 42lbs/min or 440cc/min - both those figures are referenced to a 3bar rail pressure.

Running at 4bar we get a higher pressure of 440/[sqrt(3/4)] = 508cc (or 48lbs if you prefer).

I just want to follow up with a question on this, are there any bad sides to remaining with the ABY FPR after upgrading to rs2 spec injectors and more if yuo are going to do a custom remap anyway?

I don't think it really matters - we are talking about 0.2bar difference. The ABY/AAN FPR has the slightly higher pressure so you have a slightly richer mix at WOT than with RS2 FPR. In cruise conditions the closed loop lambda adaptation levels everything out for nominal stohic mixture.
