have you checked for a clogged cat?
simple and easy, but if you have one, your boost will go from hero to zero....
I was having problems with my k24 not putting out much, said f-it, threw on a 3071r and was only getting 5psi....
pressure tested intake tract just as you did, checked my wg diaphram, and it was a darnded clogged cat...
Hi, no it doesn't have any cats on it but thanks, I've been concentrating this week end on on the ignition side and re looking at all the wiring and boots under the coil cover but could not find anything
Well what a burk am I, I've been convinced it wasnt running quite right for a while now, based on the fact that I'm not getting "full boost"
I've replaced several part and tested and re tested over and over and found nothing, its been driving me mad.
So today it was booked in at my local Rolling road (AwesomeGTI) which is what I should of done in the first place (would of saved a lot of time) because they hold on file any previous runs that they have done on your vehicle, he overlaid my previous results and found them to be pretty much identical, in fact even up a few HP,
He also did some logs which I dont pretend to understand, but the bottom line is that on his gauges (which are a bit more accurate than mine) its still getting full boost so it must just be my gauge and therefore in my head I was convinced it wasnt running as it should be.
I'm a big fan of RR as its like getting a full medical, I know they all give slightly different results but as long as you allways use the same one you carnt go far wrong.
Much praise for the guys at Awesome, fantastic setup and how embarrassed am I but relived to know its running right.

That is a bit embarrassing... though good result though... 240bhp ATW is healthy man - possibly a tad on the inflated side. I think it was Espen who said the dynojet rollers read about 10% high but that still puts you in the expected range of 'oomf' for a homefried ABY.
You are maybe running a bit lean - where are they monitoring that - at the tailpipe or at the bung on the zorst near the turbo ?
Might be worth having your fuel pressure checked and injectors checked / cleaned / balanced. Its not dangerously lean and I see it got a bit richer on the last run - rightly so as a result of higher IAT I presume.
See how the air temps climb on the rollers... A bigger IC will help you (I've got new chips to make the best of those under test at the moment)... So will airbox modifications help draw more air in....
Brilliant Dingo... Let me know when you get hooked up with the Wagner IC... I'll do *YOU* a free ECU upgrade if you get another dyno run when that is fitted - so we'll have nice evidence (hopefully) on the same car / same rollers.
Now of course - to clarify - best gains on that upgrade will be in winter time with much colder ambient air... If the roller booth doesn't provide nice cold air and adequate fans then you might see little or nothing on the rollers... Will be a good test of the Wagner IC though - when do you hope to get it ?
