i've noticed an allen key bolt on top of my wastegate and wondered if it was some kind of adjuster. will adjusting the allen key bolt on top of my wastegate give me more boost. if it does which way does it turn, how many turns should i do it and what are the pros and cons of this.

Yes, there you can adjust the spring pressure in the Wastgate. More spring pressure will give you more boost in the case that the ECU does NOT control the boost: 'limp home mode' in the case of some failure, fall back to mechanical boost pressure regulation..
and a slightly faster spool-up in the normal case.
