Yet another problem

My car has got another running problem now , when it gets to about 5krpm it loses all boost, but its not a violent cut out, the boost guage drops to dead on zero, if i keep the accelerator in the same place it will maintain the same speed... just , but it feels like the turbo had stopped working altogether.
surely it cant be a air leak
could it be intake temp related? or detecting knock and going into some sort of safety mode?
im still using this crappy 3b i/c, still waiting on pipework for the monster version

Martin, I've BTDT a few times and 0 boost means a boost leak, but before the turbo. Dunno how exactly this happens but on one 3B that I've done, the breather tube that runs in to the MAF to turbo inlet hose had come loose. Of course, this will not throw any fault codes, stock or chipped ECU. Oh and this was also happening at 5k RPM.

BTW, how's that monster IC coming along??? I guess we have a fair chance of breaking the 380 HP barrier with that RS2 turbo of yours and that nice monster IC...

I wish you'd sorted this before I paid for a custom baffled tank to be made.

I could have saved the money and bought those burberry slippers mentioned elsewhere. I could probably even have got myself the cap and wallet too. With the change I could have gone down halfords and raided the sh!tspeed cabinet for all the led/chrome/bling tat goodies. Not forgetting the 12" sunstrip with "AUDI MOTORSPORT" in big white letters.

On second thoughts, I'm glad you didn't do it first.

Im still getting this loss of boost at 5rpm, sometimes 5.5krpm, only at full throttle though, if at half throttle it is ok but with no pull at all.
i've checked all the intake piping and it is fine.
its a right PITA
i've still got that 1111 code mihnea, what do you think this could be?

incidently, my i/c is finished, there is a slight increase in lag but nothing more than i was expecting, boost does come in very hard until it just bu**ers off at 5krpm ive changed back to the standard w/g spring, the stiffer one caused major clutch slip.
