Hello guys-
I see in the forum and I think my sensor is broken.
When I runing, the oil temp is around 60ºC and the before the first ·fat line·, and only if I run about 1 hour at 100mph the gauge marcs on this fat line (perhaps 80ºC).ç
Is correct my sensor?

Within the difficulties of reading the standard gauge acurately, that sounds about right. As has been said before, unless you work the engine really hard, the oil temperature will follow the water temperature.

Thanks John!
But why our gauge put 170ºC if only go to the 90 or 100ºC if we run hardy?
The oil isn´t go too cold in that temp? My meca has a e30-M3 and he said that!
If you track the car you should see the gauge rise to around 120 - 130degrees after a few hard laps. The temp's you mention for road use sounds about right tho.

as my oil temp reading on one of the three standard gauges whilst driving on the road never gets much off the stop, from the driver's line of sight.
I see that if I was to track it, it would move a bit higher, but always wondered why some people took out their auxiliary radiator and put a comparatively big oil cooler in the auxiliary radiator's location.
At what stage or spec it is recommended to replace the existing standard oil cooler with a bigger one mounted up in-front of the engine? Asking just out of curiosity rather than necessity.
