Yes - only thing to watch is IMMO issues and that some AAN ECU are for automatic gearbox.

What is part number on AAN ECU ?

I've been running my S4 on an ABY Homefry for ages. It also goes better IMO.

@Nace - that ECU is good to go on a manual non-immo ABY...

So what you are saying is you can run an ABY ECU on a AAN motor or a AAN ECU on a ABY S2 as long as they are non -immo ?

I remember looking over the pinouts for the AAN and ABY a wile ago and as far as i remember the only difference was pin 46. On the aby it is the Multi-Function Thermal Switch and on the AAN pin 46 is not used.

Is this correct paul or have i got it wrong ?

If this is correct then my other question is what does the the ECU on the ABY do with this and what affect if any will running my ABY S2 with an AAN ECU have.

The ECUs are swappable... I'd need to remind myself on the details of that MFTS pin - pretty sure its one of the high temp alarm pins. You can run ABY chips in AAN ECU and vice versa - obviously pick the ones best suited to your car... Trying to run AAN chips for an Automatic tranny inside an ABY ECU will work fine as long as the application is AAN-Automatic.

Running ABY/AAN software on AAN/ABY engines is OK, but there are some very subtle difference in things like air temp compensation but you'll do well to spot them on the butt dyno.

Paul, i assume from the last post that 3B and ABY chips are not inter-changeable? Is this correct?
What if both engines are running identicle setup (say RS2) and both have a 3 bar map sensor?

                Cheers

3B chips are NOT usable in AAN/ABY/ADU in anyway shape or form.
