Help needed V6 lambdas won't budge

My wife's 2.6 Cabby has a severe emissions problem, the MOT guy says I need new lambda sensors,so I bought two new replacements, but the old ones which look to be the original won't budge. Now I am quite a big lad and don;t usually have a problem shifting things but these are as if part of the manifolds,I did get a little movement on the drivers side but then it locked up again, from there on the only thing that moved was the car until the socket broke.
So its down to you wonderful boys on the forum to give me your

I am assuming you are using the correct 22mm "Split" socket on them. If you are then I have no idea!

It sounds like they are in there good an proper. Penetrating oil and heat? Freeze spray?

Sorry I can't be more specific.

    Cheers,

    Steve.

Has anyone had this problem before, if so how did you fix it, is it a manifold of job or is there another way.

Oxy Acetylene - heating the surrounding area not the lambda and then squirting cold water onto the lambda, this usually works but it has to be an oxy torch, a blow torch will be like urinating into the proverbial wind......
Other option is to cut off the lambda body above the nut, then drilling though it with as big a drill bit as poss (pref a 20mm blacksmiths bit) and then trying to undo it again.
The 3rd option (which I have used far too often for my liking ) is to weld a big fat bar to it and using that to free it (its what I had to do to my hub to caliper carrier bolts!

        good luck!

Using the right probe socket usually works plus a breaker bar, they are in tight after a good few years and they just snap free when enough torque is applied.

Success at last.I soaked both lambdas for a couple of days with wd40,used a 3/4 drive socket, ex and bar,had some weetabix and they came right out, drivers side lambda thread was a bit nackerd but the new one went in OK
