    Crankshaft Pulley Bolt

Needing to clear something up ...I have been ordering up some stuff up from Audi and when getting a ABY cranshaft pulley bolt it is £7 more than the 3B/7A one, which looks exactly the same

    Whats the difference?

    Cheers

    N 010 143 2 (7A, etc) vs 034 105 229A (AAN, ABY, ADU)? Probably tensile strength.

      .

Hmmmmmm...i'll have a look at mine tonite (7A), thought they all got tightened to the same nM.

Might have a tensile strenght no. on it?

That should be fine for the ABY surely?

You could always use the old one and a whole tube of loctite like most dumb *** garages do.

              .

Vagcat quotes the 034 number for the ADU, nuf said.

Maybe just confirm with the dealer...oh where art thou VagParts...

Just looked this up on the familly album and found that the AAN crank bolt is listed as the same for the 7A and 3B, the ADU and ABY part is the other part number! Strange

Different bolt, due to different pulley. They are different sizes when you have them side by side.
