Rough idle...sometimes...

my avant has just developed a pattern of rough idle and on coming to a standstill i.e. pulling upto a junction, the revs jump...it's almost a blip of the throttle but I am still on the brake!!!....

the idle is only on start up and only every so often...

could this be my ISV??....as I had the same problem late last year and cleaned it and it seemed to cure it...

any suggestions??.....I have searched through the forum postings and it could be quite a few things.....

one last thing, could a 'collinder' like catalyst cause this?...

it could be the isv,yes.If it is getting dirty too fast,check/clean the PSV system

cheers for that Vas....I think the ISV has been on 'borrowed' time for a while now..
time for a new one me thinks....
