    Check your plastic water connections!

    Age related failure:
Had my car running on sunday, after ten minutes went to see if it was all ok. It wasn't!
Temp was 125 and low coolant warning fashing. Switching it off and opened the bonnet to find the water connection to the heater with the temp sensor in had fallen apart!
Plastic rubbish! they are on back order and I don't want another anyway!
    Aluminium one in fabrication.

I then removed the connection to the block, just under the rear of the head.
Guess what, big fat crack in it!
Next part to fab! I know URs have steel ones but they are also on back order and are £28.
I will take some pics of the new Ali ones once I've finished them.

    Just a heads up!
    Rob..

Glad no damage was done to the car, good job you went out to it in time.

Would be interested if more of these can be made rob

7A's also use the metal version, BUT they do suffer from corrosion. I would stick with the plastic IMO.
