If i had a garage near me i wouldnt have made this thread up in the first place people(or if i had a closed garage of my own where i can do my tests and buy a big old air compressor for that matter). The whole idea is that i cannot spend a whole day to look for a boost leak as i have to take the car to a garage on a saturday morning, wait for it to cool off, tear it apart, test it,then put it back together to be able to go home, and all that in the blistering cold and hopefully before it gets dark!

the cheapest way i know is
get some wood hole cutters for a drill. measure the pipe id and cut a circle this size
make one for turbo hose from turbo, 1 for the throttle body end and one for after the intercooler.
drill a hole in the one thats going at the turboside. fit a vac line connector and a hose of suitable length to make adding air easy or fit a tyre valve to the cap. make a air feed cap for various parts of the system if you want to exclude intercoolers etc.
if the system is sealed as it should be it will fill with air with a bike pump. its only a small volume of air needed to fill the hose before it will pressure up and leaks should be heard. pump until they are . add a bit more air then check again.
if you want to be posh use a bike pump and a tyre pressure gauge on another valvwe fitted to the blocked end. that way you can see the pressure being added and dropping off.
hope this helps.Comment

Thanks Gazza,
I do have 2 different leak test kits with which i can tap shut various different hoses on my system and therefore can pressurise, without having to make bungs.
All i need now is a way to get the air in fast enough to see if there is a leak there or not, without the hassle of driving to a garage.I was hoping that since im pressurising only hoses and the intercooler,it would be possible with a strong, but portable inflator, but i see now that the RATE of air delivered with these machines is not adequate especially if there is a leak,to actually do any work.So this is why i need to search for someone to either borrow or find a smallish air compressor to do the work.
But as far as bungs are concerned,i have all sorts and sizes,so plugging the ends is not a problem.Comment

not sure what pressure it is but have a look for a campingGAZ portable air bed pump. its rechargeable and would fill a hose in second. runs in principle like a turbo by stacking air too. argos sell them. not really a presure device but maybe adaptable. if they have a specification it should state max pressure.
it flows air like a hairdryer.Comment

Simple, just use a spare tire to pressurize it works a treat, i modified a brake pressure bleeder, well just used the tire connector bit anyway.
