    Coolant system

Hi everyone. Can anyone tell me how I ventilates the coolant system (getting the air out of it) the easiest possible way? Is there a special trick? Cheers Anders from Dk

There are two bleed screws, one on top of the radiator(it's a hex head bolt),the other is a plastic bend on one of the haeter matrix pipes-it has a plastic bleed screw on it.However, buy a replacement as it will most likely brake when you try to unscrew it.HTH
    It's a love/hate relationship with the S2,i love it,it hates me

I had the same problem once and got the coolant flowing better by trying this:
When the engne is cold and idling, remove the cap and put some air pressure on the expansion tank by blowing on the opeing a couple of times. If you have a head gasket tester it would be easier, be careful not to swallow any anti freeze.

Tried that also. But the two pipes to the small radiator seems to be cold even when I have been driving for half an hour. Is there some kind of thermostat that opens sometimes and leads the water out in to the small radiator?

It sounds like your thermostat is sticky or old, or there is still air around it which prevents it from heating up and opening properly. Worst case there is some kind of obstruction. There is no seperate thermostat for the small radiator.

Ok. Thanks alot. I think I will buy a new one to eliminate that problem. Where is it located in the system?

Follow the upper pipe from the radiator towards the engine, the thermostat is housed in the flanged housing on the block.

Best way I have found is to fill the matrix first as this has a tendancy to air lock.

                    cheers

@ Dave, Hello by the way

I nearly pulled the dash the other day to find out why had no heat.
Only when I flushed the matrix did I discovered the problem.

                              cheers
