    Best AAT...etc stroker guide?

Hi, just joined up to the forums as I was recommended to you guys as the best place to find out more about the stroker conversion?

Basically i've got a type 81 quattro I want to use in hill climb, i've done some searching on here but I can't find a definitive guide although i've already learned a fair bit from other peoples projects.

I'm looking for circa 400+ ft/lbs of torque and i'm trying to work out what parts I need to buy to achieve this bearing in mind the quattro i've got is completely stock with a 2.1 KK engine.

This might be a bit of a stupid question... but would a 10v KK head fit on the AAT block or would it have to be a 20v?

Where is the best place to get rods, pistons, main/rod bearings, piston rings...etc?

if you are doing it go 20v.

there are significat differences between 2v and 4v heaqds and pistons. for a starters the combustion chamber is in the head ina 4v and piston dish on 2v.

mating the 2 together can give interesting results though. i have seen golfs use 2l 8v blocks with 16v heads for lower compression so they can go together.

you may need to do some work but its an option worth looking at just putting a 20v head on.

Jamo is your man for strokers. he has a good thread around .

The 10v tall block is more common in the US motorgeek have some good threads on it.

You could also use the 92.8mm crank.

This will allow you use original block and head if you wanted with come crank clearance.

You would need lower compression height pistons to retain stock rod length.

For you aims you could also hit it with a straight 20v turbo conversion and a good turbo.

          Something else to consider.

I think i'll go with the 20v option then, now I really need to know where should I be looking for the parts I need?

I ment items like pistons, rods...etc or can I use S2 items, I was under the impression they had to be custom?

                  Cheers Bry

KRB Trading in Norway do off the shelf pistons and rods IIRC. Can't remember prices exactly, but it wasn't overly scary from what I can remember.
