-URGENT- small cracks in the head

    hello misters

sorry for the pictures quality but does someone know if these small cracks between the spark and the valve seat it´s too dangerous???

i´ve discovered it whem i opened the head these last days...

after machining the head the specialist said me that it will be some dangerous for work with this head + RS2 turbo potential...

    what can i do??

-forget this head and buy a 7A head in good condition???

    help¡¡

those seem to go all the way to the seat valve.Either find someone that can service that head or get a head without cracks.

i ended up with 3 cyl.heads before i found this one i use now that doesnt have any cracks. However one aan that i have i will have it fixed at some point.

There is an acceptable level for cracks in the head. The 3B erWin manual has the definition of what's ok. I think it mentions the depth of the cracks and how many plug threads they run through. Lemmi see if I can find it, if not, I'm sure others will advise you. If your going for more than standard power it may be wise to look for a decent 7A head and have it machined. I think Spink on the forum has done a few of these.

If you are going to pump big BHP forget it, go for a good head to start with, will be cheaper on the long run. Small cracks might be alright on a standard engine but not on uprated one.

thank you friends for all replies

today Peter kowaksch after saw my e mail + head pictures said me that i will can drive in theory perfectly for 20000kms or more ( i think that these 20000kms are going hard with the turbo ) BUT in the next future/chance try to buy an other head

(7A,3B,ABY,AAN,ADU...) because weld the head it´s not a good option here

my actuals cracks between spark/ valve seat are not to huge...Peter´s said

i am more happy now just after bought my custom metal head gasket for compression drop.. 8´8:1... the hight compression levels kills the head

,for the next future.... a stroker project i´ve bought a AAN ebgine block with 220000kms in very good condition for 300€¡¡
