Hi back with another problem.
The other day the S2 decided to run on 4 cylinders as after some investigation we found I had no spark on no 2 .
So we took a educated guess and changed the coil on no2 today.
I now have no sparks on any cylinders , What could it be.
POS (power output stage)... but it does seem odd that your not getting anything now that youve replaced the 2nd coil pack - are you sure its all rigged up correctly now youve replaced it?
I cant see how I could go wrong I just installed the new coil on no 2 then cut into the loom and connected the 2 new wires to the corresponding ones in the loom ?
It is very odd as it was running fine then down to 4 pots , fair enough coils break but to now go to no spark on a any cylinder , most strange
Have you blown a fuse anywhere since you fitted the new one? (Just a thought)

After about 5 mins of listening to the glorious sound of the 5 she starts to run on 4 again . no2 not firing again, so I tapped the POSs and tried again and back to 5.
Which POS controls no 2 the one in the gutter part of the bulk head or the one that looks like a **** to get to
There's two x three channel POS on board. Search the forum for a sticky thread on this subject - I have documented it pretty well and linked out to other sites which provide the info you need.
You need to unplug the POS cables and tease back the insulation hood. Look at the 3-pin end... The one with 3 wires used is for cyls 1-2-3. Safe to say that #2 is dead...
On the other POS the 3-pin connector has only two used. Swap the POS units over if the cables don't reach... Then use a small tool to utilise the spare POS channel - you'll need to eject the pins on the 4-pin and 3-pin side of the POS and swap into the previously empty position.
Urgggh its a bit trickier to describe like this.... When you swap the POS units over without any wiring changes your problem plug will now be cyl #5 - so bring the spare channel into replace that - still with me ?

PS - Fuse 30 has nothing to do with coils or ECU... I bet you counted wrong ... was it the far most right fuse on bottom row of fusebox ? If so thats 32 on an ABY.... But its 30 on the 3B - bonkers isn't it !!!!!!!!!!!!!
