Oil cooler plumbing.

I've finally got round to trying fit my new oil cooler. Unfortunately, I cant remember how it goes back together. I'm pretty sure it matters which round the pipework goes.

I've fitted the pipes to the oil filter housing, and I think I've got them the right way round, as they'll go to where the oil cooler will sit, also it seems likw the oil cooler can be mounted either way up. Is there a right and wrong way of mounting this too?

Had this picture in my project thread if its any use?
Plate that sticks out with 2 holes either side is on the bottom front if that makes sense?

Yea mine just fell off when I took off the plastic duct
Need to make a new metal surround for between the cooler and plastic duct as you can see mine was gone.

That was the first thing I noticed, as I've been making myself a new one today. I'd have thought these are probably NLA from Audi themselves too, or an extortionate amount of money.
