Who modyfies 5 cylinder crankshafts for motorsport ?

[Albert]

I'm looking for company that might have for sale ready light weight crankshaft for Audi 5 cylinder 86.4 mm stroke crank.

Any ideas who might have one ?

something similar to this

Try PK Motorsport in Germany. Not sure if they do an 86.4mm but they do some fairly radical versions of the std crank

You could get an 86.4mm crank from 034 and get PK to lighten it?

[Albert]

PK is out of the question. Will post later why. Any other company making/modyfing them ?

Albert,

No idea what the company below is like, but it may or may not be of assistance?

http://www.arrowprecision.co.uk/crankshafts.html

Found on google.

There is another one, but I cannot remember their exact name, it is something like "Faridon" Engineering based in the UK?

Someone else may know the one I'm thinking of?

Hope this is of some help, like your wishbone work !

Kind regards.

.

Aelred could get you a standard crank lightened...if that's what you want?

Have 2 7A cranks in storage myself.

Arrowprecision can make even new one, but it will cost $$$

[aelred]

All very expensive to make, a couple of years ago I could have some made but minimum cost for 5 was about £2000 each, I dont think I would had any takers

[Albert]

what about modifying stock crankshaft ?

[aelred]

Yes I can have that done, you will need to have all rebalanced and the keyway for locking the crank needs to be removed on the front pulley

[macspring]

Aelred,

What's the approximate cost of modifying the one in your photo? Lightening and balancing.

Just to compare it to the £2k you mentioned for the new custom one.

Thanks.

[aelred]

Just under £200

Albert: And the story behind PK ? You can send me a PM if here isn't appropriate place
