My battery died, last time i started the car pushin it. Today i ve changed the battery with a new one, but the engine wont start, in fact i have no power at all. Anybody any ideeas? I have to mention that a week ago the car s been serviced for an window electrical problem and maybe the guys touched somethin ... pls help
maybe the alarm/imobiliser is playing up?i know from past experience that it will cut the starter motor, but if you didn't know better you would think there was a lack of power/flat battery, the only way to start the car was to bump it off, as for the window,i don't know how that could affect anything, other than central locking/immobiliser
HTH
It's a love/hate relationship with the S2,i love it,it hates me
Thanks for reply add, i ll try to disconnect the alarm and try again tommorow, though more ideeas on this could help, so please guys any info is welcomed. Thank you in advance. Btw my car its an s2 3b.
Sure sounds like something is draining the battery. If you suspect the window electrics then pull the fuse for windows and see if the battery holds charge better.

disconecting the alarm(if it's the factory one) won't help
out of interest, does the car start only if you bump it off?
does the dash display light up when the key is turned in the ignition?

WIth the key out and car locked the only thing that should be active is the alarm/immo and your clock - and maybe your car stereo if it needs permanent battery for a clock or memory.
Another good way to find the source of this is to get a multimeter and set it up to measure CURRENT - that means its connected in series with the circuit under test... Pull out each fuse in turn - with the key off - and see how much current draw is going thru each fuse position. Most cheap multimeters only let you measure DC current up to 10Amps - but that is a LOT of current here. You should only see fractions of an amp for the clock & alarm.
One or more of those fuses is your key to finding the problem.
There are one or two unfused items on the S2 though - bit of a worry but its true - don't worry about them for now.
And the fuses for the electric windows are thermal resetable devices in the auxiliary fuse panel - they aren't in the engine room fusebox.
Even easier to use than a multi meter is what the Americans call a "fuse buddy". Mine is a Draper ACT 1...cost about £15. Measures the current draw and has a connector that is shaped like the fuse - saves having to mess about using both hands to get the multimeter probes into the fuse holder......
I've haven't wrote him in english because it's more easyer for me this way

No light display no nothing, i mean not even clock or central locking. The only thing that works as Paul said its the radio wich i think s connected via wire directly to the battery. I think Paul is right regarding battery drain by some short or somethin cause i ve replaced my citroen battery with audi dead batt, gave it a push and now charged as new and working. Oh and one more thing: I made a call where the car s been serviced, and those fellas told me they also had the same problem and had to call an audi specialist for to solve the problem. Strange... Thank you for your replies. I ll try to do as u guys told me to.
Cocaine nu e asta, nici macar nu potrivesc bornele, una fiind mai groasa si alta mai subtire.
Sadly i dont have a multimeter for to measure current i think i ll take the car to a audi service... To bad i dont live in UK near Paul
