I gave my car to my mechanic to fit a starter motor, i got back the car and now every time i am high in the rev range it pulls back, splutters and sometime sounds as those it back fires. Could this be the MAF, i did tell him to check the fuel mixyure and noticed he had taken the maf off and showed me i had a bent prong. The car was driving fine before i gave it to him with the failed starter. He claims he never bent the prong, but i truely dont know.

Good grief - why was he anywhere near the MAF to change the starter?
I'm confused... Pull fault codes - they should indicate something. Its possible that some wiring has been disturbed to cause this problem but its an odd one...
Also - fuel mixture cannot be adjusted mechanically on these cars - its all in the software so a gas test can only confirm that the lambda sensor and catalysts (where fitted) are working properly.
