Ok, this isn't the S2 - its a '93 100 with a 2.0 auto AAD engine.
Its been squeaking only when warm for a couple of hundred miles now and its confusing the hell out of me
disconnected the alternator, water pump and power steering pump belts first, but the noise was still there.
Then replaced the cambelt and got a new cambelt tensioner - STILL the noise is there.
I know its something that rotates is squeaking so I then pulled off the dizzy to check it the gears were ok and that the dizzy wasn't seizing, cleaned it all, greased it up and threw it back in......STILL THE SQUEAK!!!!!
Its an auto, so tried the car in all gears, still squeaking....
Only 2 things I can now think it can be are 1) cam bearing(s) or 2) the bearing on the cam driven pulley that drives the dizzy shaft, and in turn, the oil pump.
Don't really want to have to remove that shaft as it means removing the rad too.
So anyone got any ideas? Its impossible to tell where the noise is coming from, even with a stethascope, c'mon boys, I need some inspiration!!!
Cheers
