that looks like a cheap defi/hks copy.

    maybe an autometer nexus.

beauty of the hks ones is that tyeb are only maybe 15mm thick so can be mounted in a sun visor.

try a defi boostmeter BF in red for oem. i got the white and red. its also accurate too. they cost more though.

boost and no vac is not really any good. its more a pressure device. even on an SC car its nice to see vac.

For OEM best look of turbo gauge I believe a swap between voltmeter and turbogauge it's the best looking solution.
My gauge was bought trough a group buy here on S2Forum sometime ago.

so how do you manage to go full throttle and look down there.

        ill answer it. you dont.

can you honestly say you can give an accurate figure of boost.

        1. not being able to see it.
        2. it being at a poor angle for accurate vision.

also no peak hold or record so no way of telling.

Or to sum up what you are saying in one word, “ useless ” .

            Well well.......

To be very honest..... after driving Audi IL5Turbo 20V motors since 1992 (3B before and ADU after and still) I feel the proper boost with my "a**" rather then looking at a needle
Also I believe anyone would rather give a peripheric look (glance?) at instruments like gauges and not staring at them... or not.?
In any case if I really need to check the gauge because I feel something wrong....(and that it's the only moment when my eyes are searching for it....)
Like i.e. Maximum boost and problems on getting it and/or keep it....
Straight secondary road 5th gear full trhottle and I always had the chance to have a proper info.

I agree with you thoug that in other cases (not my case..)you need that gauge to be in front of you or (better) the passenger (hence the centre location) if you want to proudly show the pressure you develope every time you shift gear....

if its for a look thing and not to be useful then yes.

i didn't want to say useless Jo. im was trying to keep the 1 thread of diplomacy i have left in me after this mornings events for the forum. lol

its useless and dangerous to be exact. people find it hard not to try to take a look.

you must have a better ***-Dyno than me veneto. i like most would find it hard to see effective changes to boost hit and hold and ramp into boost.

recording and peak hold are a must for me.

              i use

              in one of these [IMG]http://www.perrinperformance.com/shared/images/products/428/769_large.jpg[IMG]

its a perrin racing universal. i have the previous version. fits perfectly on S2 cowling.

not factory look though but money well spent for a USEFUL device.

GazzaG60 nice one! I can see your point.
Out of banter if there was one.....
I believe it's all down on different motorist philosophy.
In here we have very various approach on these lovely cars of ours.
Some can streep down their to bare metal to gain that little bit of performance
Some (not many) are very conservative on the OEM look of them to the last screw..
Some (probably me in the bunch) are in between of these two categoryes, they want something out of their motors/cars but don't want to be "too intrusive" on them to keep the collectable value

My answer was driven by the first issue/question on the thread title:Which OEM look Boost Gauge?
So far I still believe that my solution (wich I copied from others anyway) it's the only one that matches 100% the question.
Looking or glancing, how many times or never or randomly, it's not an issue in this case IMHO.
If ,instead, we want to talk about: Wich one it's the best turbo gauge?
Then the scenario can be far more various.... and I'll probably agree with you in many points.

                Stefano

                P.S.
remember in any case that on LHD car that viewing angle it's not so bad.....

you are correct veneto. its is the most oem as per title thread.

all im trying to say is in my opinion they are for sure form over function.

mine for most would be intrusive like you say. its easy to see from another "challenger" or from the car behind it isn't your standard audi. it ruins the fun a little. but so does the noise.

I ran 5 group buys for them for about 40+ folks on here who will agree that they are the best OEM fit. There are several threads from these group buys and loads of installed pictures so have a search and if you want one then I will put you in contact with the vendor and get you the group discount.

                                Hi everyone,

I'm in search of a turbo gauge for my car (RS2).
Reviewing the posts it seems this is the best solution.
I've tried to purchase one from www.s2fast.de but had no response from them.
Is this web still alive? Is there any group buy in the future?

                                Thanks
