what kind of intercooler do you have? those are good inlet temps.I get something like that on that outside temp, but when i went for a drive the car was quite hot from a recent 2 hour drive.
can you post the file?
also my runs were done in 3d mostly and 4th gear
Stock RS2 IC. I'll see if I can post the logs tomorrow. Was out driving for more than 2 hours, so the engine was nice and warm.
Deleted aux radiator, so much better airflow over turbo and intake. In addition, I changed the steel intake pipe to one of the plastic versions, painted it silver and put aluminum tape on the underside of it, this helps refect radiant heat from the exhaust.
The original black steel pipe used to be so warm that I would fry eggs on it, the new painted plastic one stays cool.

i think im getting quite a bit of radiating heat from the hotside and the exhaust manifold and this may be due to the cryogenic treatment that has been done to it.Apparently after this treatment metals do tend to radiate more heat out of them.I had a few mechanics noting that things were hotter around there, without me telling them about the cryogenics.
hopefully with the reverse manifold this wont be a problem anymore, but i will have to make a very good heatshielded box for the mushroom HKS filter,as with the SQ manifold you cannot fit the rs2 box anymore there
IAT rises with revs at 1.8 bar too, compressed air will heat and no IC is 100% efficient.
I will log again at 1.2-1.3 bar (I have a low boost switch that enables control pressure to bypass the boost controller and make the WG operate on spring pressure only)
A bigger IC will cool more, but I'd say that the temps stay quite low as they are. 19C at 7200rpm in 3rd on a 10c day is much lower than what we saw at the filer on an S6+ with a cone filter (measured 40+ at the filter, IAT would be even higher)

Not neccessarily a sign of being off the map. A Turbonetics E50 is not off the map at 1.8bar on a 2.2L. A turbo will heat up the air more as it has to work harder at higher revs, that is just physics and the downside of forced induction.
A small turbo that is being pushed will see IATs way above this. I was very pleased at the low temps. I will do more logs at lower boost, that will provide some interesting data, IATs will be somewhat lower, but I doubt timing will change much.
Did you log IAT?

outside temps on the day i did the runs was about 16-17C and the engine was @ 90C when i went out. ON another run when i used water inj. the temps went down to 23C
Your temps are hard to judge since very little of the file are at WOT (throttle opening at 97 and above). Way too few data points at WOT
Do a third or 4th gear (or as speed limit allows..) pull from low rpm preferably on a hill, and start the log right when the pull starts. Clean up the numbers afterwards, so that the file only reads data gathered at WOT, and with rpms increasing from low to high.

It should, it is just a matter of logging in a tall gear, and preferably uphill, so that the rpm increase is slow. That way you get more data points.
Cleaning up the file is done in excel afterwards, just delete all rows that are before and after the WOT action. Makes it easier to read and interpret the file.
VAGCOM rocks, really worth its weight in gold

i have a special reader that allows to export to excel or doc more than 3 columns and i use that. I will install VEMS tomorrow and start some serious datalogging though!
