These seem like all the others, under a different name. Having said that, close inspection of them will tell. These were on Fleebay at £325 a couple of months ago. Correct me if I am wrong but the 2 pics are not the same.

looks like a scat box too.

you get what you pay for like everything. i have no issue with scats. the 2 sets ive had have been very close on weight.

All good points. Clearly Titianium Arrow rods would be best.

Where's the best place to buy scat rods?

So am I right in thinking that the THS Rods are rebranded SCATs?

I understand not everyone thinks that much of SCATs, but my question is really whether the like of Arrow or Carillo are really worth the 4x greater cost than these? My engine build will be for maximum of 400-450hp as I want it driveable on the road, is it worth spending the extra dosh on top end rods for this level of build? Clearly I want to build it as strong as possible, what is it about SCATs that make them the dirty sock in the laundry basket of rods?
Are they poor material quaity, machining tolerances, balance etc?

                      any advice appreciated

Normally the problem is the weight difference of the set is quite and high and it's hard to have them balanced equally, they are a good budget rod but the question really is this.

Once people start modding they usually at some point want to go higher bhp, do you don't want to have to change the rods and balance the crank twice?

I had a set and Terrybullwon had a set but we went to Pauters to futureproof the builds

Just looking at Pauters now, they are middle ground in terms of price between SCATs and Carillos / Arrows so maybe a good option - all boils down to cost at the end of the day, as you probably well know and James DEFINATELY does these kind of projects tend to escalate

Did you buy Pauters in the UK or form the US?

                            pauters are great rods.

you can get them from the states. I know paul at the boostfactory sells them. i got my scats from him. and my turbo and a tial gate........
