mine touched the bonnet with the standard block. cant rememebr seeing one in norway that hadn'r had the bonnet dinged and the cable holder trimmed. brand new track density mounts

i removed the plastics from the underside of the binnet and then used a pannel hammer to make a slight flat where it caught. i trimmed the back corner of the plastic cable retainer on the throttle body.

with the old mounts it would have been fine i think

You need to cut the bonnet, i'm in this position now, I dropped the passenger side engine mount 6-8mm on spacers and the bonnet closes perfectly however the throttle cannot rotate to full open as it catches on some metal on the bonnet.

Sonic also had the same problem and kindly provided this pic

ouch. i didn't bother cutting them. in case i wanted them back at some point. bet those plastics are not cheap.

you are cutting the plastics and not the bonnet jamo?

I've removed all the plastic and covering on my bonnet as I wanted to start from a bare bonnet, even then it still needs to be trimmed.

To be honest I'm shocked thats the only place it catches everywhere else is fine.

is for panel beating. basically is a large round flat end a light hammer. enables you to shape the panel a little and not lose and paint.

what i did was close the bonnet and try to open the throttle. i found it jammed on the plasic cable holder. trimmed that it opened fully but stuck on the return. opened bonnet and found where it was catching. put a thin smear of gasket paste on the spot as it was to hand and then redid the throttle finding the small area it caught on. a few little taqps with the hammer just flattened the b ulge so to speak and away i went. i am also finding that the top of the inlet can catch on the underside of the bonnet too. nots it just rubs a fraction so yuo get a little shiny spot.

you can get a single one for about a fiver. or use a mallet and a small flat of metal or rubber.

its about not cutting a very pricy bit of metal. also looks better when the bonnets popped.
