    Injector cleaning

The idle has been gettingprogressively worse and the car's playing up a little, can't rule out injectors so though I'd look into refurbishing/cleaning. Where and how much?

Anyone got a spare set of injectors from a upgraded car that are in good condition?

ive got a set that came on the car im breaking, they were cleaned and flow tested about 1500miles ago at a ridiculous cost of £303 ive got the origional receipt and flow test sheets, surly a new set from the stealers would have been cheaper?

Seems like a bargain as you seem to get a useful looking before vs after report.

As a little exercise I want to measure flow from mine as they are today - with original fuel pump and filter too... Just to see how they fare. I have to renew the fuel lines this year and have 044 pump ready to rock, plus new filter as well readied up. Just need to commit myself to the great messy 'orrible lying on the floor task.

That was a bit pricey, i had ten tested and five cleaned for £80. Basically they flow tested them all and picked the best five before cleaning them. Didnt make much difference to overall flow rates, its the spray pattern and atomization that was really improved. Translates into smoother idle and better part throttle response.

McNamaras in the City Center http://www.mcnamaras.ie/, they dont have the greatest reputation but they do have a bench tester and cleaning equipment. They even let me sit and watch

Everybody in the VW community here recommends Martin Tracy in Enfield for engine work, http://www.westwardeng.com/ Havent seen his test equipment but i have used him to bore/hone my cyl block. He also has a 4WD dyno, the only one i know of down here...
