AAN Oil travel routeto oil cooler?(or something)

Hi, i've mounted a new oilcooler with an fitting in my S6, but since the new cooler has one fitting on the bottom and the top i wanna make sure that its connected right so i get the oil in from the bottom and out on the top so it sqeezes the air out.

So which of the 2 connections on the oilfilter housing is feeding ? the one to the front of the car or the one to the rear? Its pretty tight around there so i couldnt see if anything is printed on it that says what is what.
