urs4 auto ecu into manual urs4

Is the ecu in an auto urs4 the same as a manual urs4? Are they interchangable?
    Thanks

From my personal experience - it will cutout boost at some conditions. Don't remember exactly when, but it was happening. Maybe not related with ecu, maybe it was just my car (because I am not using auto ECU anymore for few years now, hard to remember).

I have heard, that some ecu pin (for automatic gearbox) needs to be connected to the ground, or something. Then auto ECU can be used without hassle. But this is not verified info.

If you are going to chip it - then no problems, ECU's are identical except programing. However remember ABY/AAN/ADU ECU's require professional soldering first time you change chips (to put sockets in).

I can easily convert an Auto ECU into a manual application... And upgrade it at the same time for AAN, ABY, ADU

Don't know what effect it has on the gearbox, but I know one chap, running chipped manual ECU on his urS6 for one year now. No complains, however I think, that it must somehow bad for the box.

Thats weird - would expect the ECU to communicate with tranny about revs, load etc so tranny can make good shift decisions...

Once I have seen contents of Auto ECU chips I will be able to see how difficult it would be to offer proper upgrade on the Auto ECU.

Well ,here's my own experiences. As I supposed it's only me who do the experiement.
My car has Auto Tranny.once I chipped the car with the chips that has been dedicated
for the Manual ECU.only one problem,Actually it's not really. It is the REV Limiter.
the stock ECU will limit the REV around 6,900 RPM.once the car has been chipped.
it could REV upto 7,500 RPM.But it's useless to have more ceiling on the peak REV.
Because whenever the REV goes over 6,900 RPM.The Tranny ECU will be in the limp mode.
the gear positions on the instrument cluster will be on in any position. You need to
switch off and on the engine again to disengage the limp mode.I have been talk to a
chinese guy who living in Switzerland. He said his car hass been modified on the Tranny ECU
with MTM software.I'm just curious this's true as I never heard MTM has the Tranny ECU for
                the Auto car.

I have many of friends who has Chipped S-car.I'm pretty certain that the chips were from the manual ECU.
evry cars is running without any problems. My current setup is GT2871RS from 034's.034 just sent me the new chips.
As there some ECU cut issue on the ECU.I guess there might be sum errors on the Chips. So he sent the new one
to me.This also happened to one of my friend who running on the KKK K3T with 034's RS2 software.there's the same
issue. As boths chips has been burnt at the same times.I'll let you know in a couples if there's still any problems.
I'm going to pick up the new chips at the post office on tomorrow.

OK Mates real nightmare has come,I just installed the new revision Chips from 034's on my car.the car won't get started.I just tried to crank starting for a half min.Well ,get the 034's RS2 Chip in and 2871's Chips off.It doesn't
work anyway, I have no idea now.I need to wait for the 034's support.

I know the auto cars have a TCU, but I always thought it had to work in conjunction with ECU - it must get enough raw data from engine to make shift decisions more or less by itself... The rev limit is an issue though - at a minimum the ECU should prevent this (or the TCU needs modified to not freak out at 7000rpm)... TCU mustn't get 'raw' engine speed data for this reason - it must be the RPM signal that also goes from ECU to instruments.

If I could get handson with factory ECU from automatic I could maybe get somewhere with it.
