  • URGENT! 044 pump New basket fitting trouble in RS2 *solved*

I found out that the stock pump in the RS2 is almost dead so i "stole" the not yet mounted 044 pump for my S6 project.

I studied this thread http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14698 And modified that mesh bit so the pump would slip in. But the next part where it says that the pump has 2 grooves so you need to cut some grooves in the basket so it slips further down..

Well... my 044 pump has 1 huge groove that goes around the whole pump so i'm def not sure to make that sqeeze even further down..

    Any sugestions?

Pics below to ilustrate my problem

From the pics you haven't followed the guide, you need to cut the retainer so the pump will slide down, the grooves are made for extra flex and then hold the pump with a cable tie.

4wheeldrifter has a perfect pic somewhere.

You replace the filter afterwards just make it smaller so it clears the pump
