The main reason people havent used garrett's is because its far easier to fit another KKK. Turbo Dynamics do a KKK/Garrett T04E hybrid which is supposed to be pretty good, i think mark H's turbo is a Garrett but he had to have custom exhaust and SQ EM.
From what I have heard the new Garrett GT range is really good and much better than the T range. They are a bit pricey. The guru's would be able to tell you what size to fit - GT30R roller bearing (rated from 350 to 500 hp)? Have a look at http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/jsp/index.jsp and download the catalogue - it has lots of info.

I have a GT30R that i plan on useing on my 20valve URQ conversion. Should be a good job with a custom manifold.
I'm using a GT35/40BB on my S2. Unmapped until the next season so I can't really say how it works yet. haven't even been able to drive it yet... Got mine from Australia, the price was about 2/3 of the price here in sweden!
Some friends of mine has one on a SQ/S1 type engine and it worked fine until the oil pump belt broke and made the cam belt jump a few notches... But that's another story.

The "hot" turbo being tried by the big horsepower guys on the urS4/6 list is the GT35R. The specs look very good. I am leaning toward this turbo for my 2.3L motor.

I went for the GT30R as it is easily up to making 500BHP. Thats all i would ever want. The GT35/40R can support 600BHp, but had more lag obviously. The gt30R with the 76mm wheel will be making 1 bar boost at 3K rpm ish on our engines and can make 2 bar from 4K to 7.5K easily on the 2.2l. I eventually plan on building a 2.5L 20VT and even then this turbo will support it. I think the bigger turbos than this are all just top end number turbos, not road use stuff.
