I had all this ploted for the GT30R befour i got it. It should be ok with surge, but i have made a note of the max boost it can run at different engine rpm so that when the engine is mapped i can get it set up to be within those limits. All sounds good on paper, cant wait to feel what it drives like. Maybe next year though

At a quick look on the specs on Garretts website I'd say the GT30 is a damn fine choice for the S2. I haven't had a chance to study the compressor maps, but I'd think the GT35 is biased more towards top end power for the trackday and dragstrip boys, so I'd expect it to generate serious boost later in the rpm range than the GT30.

Must digout Corky Bells wee book to remind me how to decipher the compressor maps.

Gotta wonder how/if the GT30 would bolt up to an RS2 or S1 EM - I haven't studied the dimensions either.

For me personally (money no object) on road use I'd want something with minimum lag, torque over 600Nm and sufficient grunt for ~450bhp - attached to a suitably beefed up bottom end, ported head and hilift cams - custom mapped of course.

          Dream on....

The GT30 i have is on a T3 flange. Thats why im going with a RS tuning tube manifold. Just looking at the GT30 you can tell its a fine turbo. It has a 4 inch inlet.

and to use it properly You would have to have SQ MAF that is also 4 inch

I had been thinking of useing a custom MAF made from a S2 sensor in a 4 inch tube. This should be OK with Custom mapping wich i would need/want anyhow. thanks, des.

So how much Psi do you guys run with this MAF system?

                    I use a k26-62mm hot side / To4e - 82mm GT37 rotor, water cooled 360ºbearing.
It has much more lag than the stock RS2 unit, but I'm running 1,6bar@7300rpm without any problem. My friend with the same turbo is running 1,8@7300 with 2,3bar peak boost @ 4200rpm on a custom manifold.
Boost comes slowly at 0,3bar@3300, 0,5@3500 and 1bar@3900-4000, then quickly peaks 1,8bar@4200-4300. It dos not make full boost until third gear.

Its fast, very very fast. I would say RS4 tuned/ Porsche TT territory (something like 450hp).
