How Much Would You Pay For Rs2 Engine?

I was just wondering how much RS2 Engine would cost to buy?.Since they are so rare any ideas guys.

Depends if it comes with the exhaust manifold, turbo, Inlet etc etc

They are almost identical to the ABY just the water pump, cams and bearing shells are different I believe.

Its the bits that bolt on to the Rs2 engine that you want.

Good block and head ? £600/700 ish ?

Bearing shells of the ABY are the same as the RS2 it's only the 3B that had the weaker bearings.

The head is stamped differently I don't know whether there is a difference i couldn't find out.

Problem is you will pay extra for the ADU code, a complete ABY will go for 1k and ADU can go for 1.5-2k especially in germany.

If it's to swap into an existing ABY then I don't see that it's worth the extra, if it's going to replace an ADU then perhaps it would affect the value of the RS2, not sure really

By looking at the pics of David car his is a 3B, if the engine comes complete with turbo, manifold which are the two big main differences it may be worth it although he'd need engine loom of course to convert to coilpacks

Yeah,it's come complete with turbo,wiring loom,ecu.Would around £2000 be a fair price,considering they are so hard to get and do you guys thinks it worth the hassle or not.Or maybe i should go the easy route,and replace the usual bits such as turbo,em,etc etc:

With everything required to fit and fire (including the DP and all ancillaries, esp. ECU ), service history and gauranteed <150k mileage that seems close, £2k would be better I guess. EMs crack for a living and check the turbo over although a rebuild is simple enough through a number of companies, the IM is pretty much the same as the ABY but has Porsche written on it, as is a lot of the rest of the engine so parts can be sourced from the cheaper ABY. Does that 2.5k include the 'box, linkage, front subframe and prop too (6 speed conversion).

Would make a nice little project

End of the day it's worth what you pay for it, the RS2 engine is not cheap despite what is posted here in what we would want to pay for it.

The RS2 engine do not get sold complete very often. I think it's a good price personally.

Check ebay.de and thats the price to pay for one minus turbo etc in some case.

a lot of money for me .....

ABY/3B engines are much more cheaper ... ADU code have the reason, haha it is something similar like between the inlet manifolds from ABY/ADU... are the same but the "powered by porsche" logo ruless haha,more money much more

Cheers JAMO,would there be anything i should look for or change before fitting the engine.How about the gearbox?do you think i should keep the 3b one or upgrade to a 6 box

6 speed box is a lot better but you must get the subframe from an ABY car and make sure you have the full linkages with the gearbox
