Advice: Removal of sleeve behind o/s headlight

    Hi there,

Re the sleeve that slides in behind the off side headlight - can I remove this to allow more air to flow through to the turbo area? (it slides out vertically). There is a rubber flap between the o/s headlight and the small rad which directs air towards the turbo area but this sleeve prevents it reaching the area. Could it be a summer/winter option?! Or should there be a sleeve both sides as behind the near side headlight there isnt a sleeve although the housing is there to take one.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Cheers,

I thought this acted to prevent the air being forced behind the light by the rubber flap around the light, and into the airbox?

Ah, yes ok, that makes sense. I'll leave it right where it is!

With the auxrad removed I have long thought about creating a bigger scoop to beside the headlight so as to massage more air up the old intake passages.

When I was testing differences between ABY and RS2 airbox I ran without the RS2 sized trim behind the headlight and maybe its nonsense but I felt there was a little less oomf when I fitted the RS2 trim as that reduces the opportunity for air to get sucked in compared to the wide open spaces when its not there.

No surprise at trackdays you see lots on one eyed S2/RS2 scooching around.

I run my S2 without the "box" behind the headlight. The airbox has a second intake trumpet fitted below the existing one, directing air downwards to avoid the filter getting wet. After a lot of testing I found this works better than the standard set up. I know all the arguments about cold air feed, but I think this is only an issue in slow/stationary traffic. Try running without the sliding panel and see what you think......
