My 3B S2 has a really heavy throttle pedal - this seems sad, but oin a long journey im getting cramps & an aching foot - I now think the pedal may be a contributory factor. Im looking at replacement seats to help , but can anyone tell me if a heavy pedal is right for the S2 or if not , what can I do about it ?
This may seem a really obvious question, but........
I didn't think it was possible to have a "heavy" accelerator pedal. All I can think of is that it is either catching on something as you depress it (carpet or mats perhaps), or the cable is fraying where it comes through the bulkhead. If its the latter then it will eventually snap.
Have a go at seeing how free the trottle feels from under the bonnet. Pull the cable or move the bit that it attaches to (showing my ignorance here - sorry). If its the same as using the pedal then you've got problems.
Just unhook the cable from both engine and pedal ends and then see which part is stiff, easy enough, if its the pedal, take it off, find out why its heavy and grease the pivot point. If its the cable, then you can try hanging it up vertical overnight after spraying lots of WD40 down it. Should be simple enough to rectify.
The pedal should be feather light. (NOT to be taken literally :nana: )
i drove 5 s2s till now, and no one of them has heavy pedal. It is a little havier when you press gas from 2/3 to floor.
You should check trottle pedals wire, use some spray for rust ....
