    Cross-member boost leak?

After spending yesterday morning with my front bumper off, and finding a few interesting looking things which needed tightening, I came across what I suspect was the major factor in my car's boost leak...

Where the bonnet catch bracket attaches to the top of the cross-member, there appeared to be a missing bolt, and a hole! (this is where the leak sounded like it was when we checked the system for leaks). The bracket could move around which I also suspect is not correct.

Is this hole normal? I mean, I can see there should be a screw or bolt there to hold the bonnet catch bracket in place (I checked on another car at the meet), but does this bolt go through the metal of the cross member and right into the plastic boost pipe? (i.e. Would it cause a leak if it was not there? )

    Cheers

Graham, I'm not familiar with the plastic cross member but if someone fitted too long a screw and it punctured the plastic pipe then this is possible. If I suggest running the engine and painting washing up liquid near the 'hole'. If it blows bubbles then it looks as though you have a leak

Splendid plan. I'll try that tonight.
