    New Intercooler

Hi folks, recently acquired a 2nd hand RS2 IC as an upgrade for my stock ABY coupe but after reading through the thread on large intercooler installations I've decided that I should get a slightly bigger one seeing as it will still fit under the standard bumper and I'm going to need a new crossmember anyway.

    Been looking at this:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=350220444829

Was just wondering if anyone has bought an IC from this place before, if they have had any quality issues etc. Looks similar to the one fitted in the aforementioned thread. Thanks for reading

Looks like the generic ones used by a few on here including Newsh and S2_bo. RS2 is easier in terms of plumbing but is slightly smaller.

Hopefully routing the pipework won't be too bad as I'm intending to remove the aircon and possibly the aux rad.

For anyone interested the RS2 unit is now up for sale on ebay.

If your removing the aux rad you can run the pipework where that goes, ala newsh.

I've just got rid of the ic I had same as this otherwise that would have been good. Looked like it would fit lovely behind the bumper.

Been reading the thread about S2_bo's installation and looks ok to keep the aux rad. Although undoubtedly would be easier without it... can't decide really, so many people think it's unnecessary but then lots of others think it is :S

Running the pipe work around the back of the IC in line with the crank pulley is not to bad. You will need a fair bit of pipe though and a few silicone elbows ect.

I used ss pipe with a 3mm side wall but that was heavy so if you can find thinner or alloy i would recommend that.

                  Good luck

S2_bo, I don't suppose you are still able to obtain the crossmember that you had made up? Or even drawings from which I can have one made?
