i would check to see if it smokes when under power - or if it is just when idle. I have a simiular issue - UrS4 1993 approx 190K New turbo set up but car sat for a while and upon start up, after a minute or so it starts to belch blue smoke - but when driven the car is - well- goes like lightning! Possible culprits could be Valve stem seals - turbo oil rings - best of luck.

Do a compression test on the engine to see if it is the expensive pistons and rings, do one dry them put a 10 ml of oil in and see what the difference is, if it is great then the engine is leaking by the pistons, stem seals can be done without removing the head.

I have the same problem with blue smoke. I have them since repaired the turbo. Repaired it twice, but they don't disappear. When I put other turbo on then I have no smoke. One guy said that better is to put on good used turbo than repair it

I'd say no to repair Turbo.I have been experienced kinda issue for a year.Currently,I have 8 K24s Turbo lol.
but finally,I ended up with GT2871RS.If your car burnt oil when she has been sitting idle or shut the motor off
for a moment and on again,if she is getting burnt the oil out of the tailpipe,REV engine up and then the smoke gone.Your culprit is most likely your turbo.
the Valve stem seals, mostly the car will smoke out only if she has been sitting overnight and the smoke will be out only when she's still cold. There's no smoke during the day except they're really leaky.
PCV system, from my experiences and searching a ton of infos, the smoke will be randomly out.now consistent as the above cases.let me know if i could be kinda helps, the issue has been annoyed me for a year.esp, when I have the car in a very high traffic.when the car was getting smoke out,the peoples around the roadside were looking at me.they looks like i'm like a **** on an AUDI car. :-(
