Mihnea can do you a customised setup - optimised for the knock limits, MAF behaviour and fuel pressure on your car. I can do you a generic S2 upgrade that delivers 430Nm of peak torque and 280bhp at the top end.

AMD chips are indeed encrypted. WHat is very curious about an AMD installation I saw last year was that they only tweak the turbo chip and leave fuel and timing totally standard - ridiculous in my opinion.

Your car may just be low on fuel pressure or have lower knock tolerance than the chips would like.

With Mihnea's help I have made my chips even more generic than before to ensure there is more tolerance for different cars behaviours. A few tweaks on various compensation maps were needed to improve running on different fuel and at higher air temps.

Dunno if you'll make it to Mihnea' scottish tuning session. Obviously the car needs to be certified healthy (no air leaks etc) beforehand. I can send you my spare tweaked ECU if you'd like to test that against the AMD one. It will be late next week however.

Pending what happens (see below) That's a fantastic offer. I accept.

I really don't think my wheels are going to be back in time anyway because the carrier mucked up the collection with me being in Thurso. The wheels would have arrived in Milton Keynes yesterday afternoon, so they will start refurb today. The work takes 2 days so that means they could possibly send them back end of tomorrow. I'm reluctant to belive they will be back with me in Thurso by Friday evening but this is not impossible. I'm still not ruling out a trip to Dunfermline if it becomes possible - but I fear it's unlikley.

Anyway some info on my car. It's a 1995 with just about a 100k. It has a full Audi service history apart from 2 @ Autowerke in Edinburgh. The only 2 problems I have ever had with the engine was the Air Mass Meter which i changed prior to the chip installation and the Hall Sender which was replaced by Highland Audi after. I would be surprised if there were any leaks that does not mean there aren't any!!!

      I'll give you my details.

      Thanks very very much.

Are your wheels going to Pristine Wheels perchance ?

Thats quite near to me - I've heard they do good work and often thought I should try them as my alloys are a tad shoddy.

          Yes Paul they are.

The wheels I sent are 17" ACE 10 spoke (Italian jobs). The new quality was quite poor on finish, because regular cleaning didn't help for that long before laq & paint started coming off.

Pristine wheels were recommended to me through the Quattro Owners Club (I also have a ur-MB). Everyone I know who has delt with them say they do a first class job.

Mine should come back much better than the original item because they powder coat them and skim a layer of alloy from the rim before recovering them.

They uplift them through the many agents they have throughout the country but because of my location I decided to deal with them direct. They are just as happy to deal direct. I'll let you know how the finished product turns out when I get them back.

In the meantime you can visit their website (I found it through Yahoo). Their Tel No is 01908 282628
