VAG-COM + Hitachi ECU

Will VAG-COM talk to the Hitachi ECU on a 7A? If so what sort of things can it do compared to the Motronic ECU?

Be careful as Jas11n will tell you the 7A has a habit of frying Vag-com cables

Depends if it's a 2 plug (early) or 4 plug (later)

Not had a problem on my 90q 20v which has the 4 plug ECU

Ditto only seems to work on later ECU's. It dosent have as much functionality as the Bosch units, you can only measure a single measuring block, and the real time logging is a lot slower.
