Scottish S2 Tuners?

Hi guys, just wondered if there were any recomendations of places that know their stuff on S2's?

Ive heard A4Audi in clydebank are fairly knowlegable and enthusatic. thoughts?
Also, what are AVA like around S2's? Obviously having a 4wd roling round is a bonus!

Just want someone to know if i need to take her anywhere and also make sure shes running tickity boo!!!

not sure up there on audi specifics but id head for a good tuner rather than a good audi person. most audi specialists have not seen many S2 so wouldn't know whether its good or not. a good tuner will be able to tell you if its running ok or not.

Andy forrest is a subaru specialist but knows when a turbo 4x4 is good or not. he runs low 9's down the quartermile.

If you get a 4WD power run - normally bout £50 depending - that will tell you if things are healthy... Get wired up for boost and AFR measurement on the rollers and get a couple of good power runs in 4th gear.

I was just picking up my 90q from its MOT and there were 2 S2's in the car park. Usually at least one around there. But they dont really do tuning www.firstdrivecars.co.uk but do know there way around old Audis/VW's and Porsches. But most cars here are standard, SmithS2 and myself and a few others here also use them.

There is also a garage in my village very popular with the TVR/ supercar community throughout Scotland, but its in the NE. One is ex BMW motorsport the other races hillclimb. And i see all sorts in there, often pop in for a bullsh*t one of the two built a caterham from scratch and fab'ed bits they didnt like the look of to improve. www.jdmotorengineers.com, some proper track weapons come in and out of there. Not S2 specialists but they know how a car should be setup and as the name suggests are engineers and very thorough.

I would recommend either highly... and i am a fussy sod.

cheers guys, like uve said i think its more about a general good head on their shoulders and understanding all things turbo or 4wd etc. might have a nose about a few local guys see whos doing what and might take a trip to AVA to see whats shes making standard

Think a mate of mine might be organising a 4wd RR day at the place in whitburn pretty soon. I THINK it was only about £30 a run the last time.

AL, are you looking for somebody to look after your S2 , undertake major work etc,etc, or a are you specifically looking for a tuner and what are you wanting them to do.

I'm guessing you're north of Glasgow, there's a few specialists (specifically individuals
who i use/ask when Im stuck or need their tools down here in ayr, audi 30 years+, ur's, s-cars, etc.

There's a plethora of tuners up here, depemds what you need or want done, IMHO take it for a run down south , book in for a service with Tom, enjoy your run home. we'll usually have a meet up here around september, bring your car along and we''l have a wee look at it for you

Hi guys, thanks again for the help. I guess im looking for somebody who i trust with the car when the bits crop up that i cant do. Extreme motorport sound like its woth investigating and as im just outside airdrie that makes it a 10min blast for me!!!!
Like wise now that i dust the cobwebs of the grey matter ive heard good thing in the past regards starperformance too. Where ever i end up ill be sure to update so we know who knows what in the future.
