Went to pull my fault codes last night, following instructions from the s2central website. I tested my bulb across the black connector - worked fine, but when i connect the 12v lamp to the blue and black connectors, the lamp lights up dimmly and fades out after a couple of seconds. If i wait a couple of minutes and reconnect, then it does the same thing, however if i disconnect and reconnect immediatley nothing happens.
thanks for the reply! Trouble is that the lamp dims out before i can connect the jumper wire, and the engine was running. I had a chat with my guvnor about this...turns out i was using a 12v 21w lamp...so i'm probably pulling too many amps? Especially as you refer to using a 12v led = milliamps? I will get hold of such a thing and hope i havent cream crackerd the lot! Thanks again..... Dan.
OH yeah - a wee 1 or 2W lamp is all you need... it aint gonna like 21W - but it shouldn't have killed anything - probably hit a soft current limit... The ECU is welll protected.
Thanks for confirming that! I thought as much. It was still trying to pull a current when i gave up, so im hopefull! I will see what i can find in work tomorrow and report back! Cheers..... Dan.
