Excellent news. If you can find ADU & ? do they fit then go for it as they go on forever with the metal mesh rather than 'pottery' internals

Such a shame that a garage can't even do a simple job right.

What do you reckon they did, whack the gas analayser on it and check the lambda values for five minutes??? (If you are lucky)

Give them hell and threaten to bill them for all your time and effort after they neglected to do their part properly.

Sounds like you have a smile back on your face now too.

    Cheers,

    Steve.
Oh yes Steve, I'm happy alright.
Ok, I've spent some serious cash on sensors and the like, for no reason really.
But the ones I've removed will go into the loft spares collection should I need them at some point.
And at least I know the car is running well, all the hoses are fine, no leaks anywhere, the wastegate is fine and also the turbo is in good heal.
I can now drive to the lakes on Monday coming with my bro for our annual camping trip, without being left behind. Gotta love some of those roads on the way there and would have been no fun at all in an asthmatic S2.
After I pop my MTM chips back in tomorrow, I reckon I might just have the edge on my bro's car, now she is in effect de-catted.
The exhaust has a bit more growl too.

As to what these tosspots actually did? I reckon nothing at all. I took my dog with me and disappeared for an hour and half. Come back and paid them what they asked after they said they were fine. They did say they'd removed them. Lying scroats

The lack of service you received from that garage is f*cking shameful, I hope you get a full refund. Good luck.
    Cheers Rob

The analogy of camp fire embers is really close to the truth mate.
They reminded me in feel and weight, of the "clinkers" (as my gran used to call them) in a dead coal fire.

The cats are under warranty and I'll also be pursuing a refund for this too.

Cheers lads. It was a journey all right.
I woke up the other morning thinking I'd fixed it. Then realised I'd been dreaming about the daft thing

I'm looking forward to going to this garage tomorrow. Going to love watching them squirm like the worms they are.

FFS! i hate it when garages do stuff like that. I hope you kick some serious *** there tomorrow mate, dont let them get away with that! Spin them some legal story involving solicitors etc and they should show you some cash to compensate..

Yeah, I'll probably end up with a race cat of some description no doubt. Never again will I try to scrimp on the upkeep of this motor. Lesson learnt big time.
It's probably cost me more trying to solve this issue, than it would have to get a race cat fitted in the first place

On that note, we'll see what happens Vas, I might take you up on that..........but give my wallet time to recover, it's taken a big hammering the last fortnight
