Dont forget a misfire at the wrong time can lead to major engine damage like bent conrods.

That Bosch plug is the preffered upgrade plug on S4's RS4's and even 1.8T's. Standard copper core plugs cannot withstand the constant stress and heat of a turbo engine. The ends can melt and break off either getting stuck under a valve, and/or going thru your turbo.
Want to get the right plugs as will be using the car on the track
Will have to order F5DP0R as was having bother getting them locally.
what do you reckon to the Bosch FGR6HQE0 four pronged plugs being fitted?

They are lame! they are a "hotter" range plug, this could in the long term lead to valve problems. Those plugs are also a PITA for me to get hold of easily, so i have to keep a stock of them myself.

Was going to run the NGKs for a few days to see if the no2 plug goes black as the old one in the picture.
Want to see if I have a dodgy coil pack? she runs ok but idles a wee bit lumpy?
dont know if its was the crack in the old plug or a coil pack

Looking at the pic it looks like a tracking mark. Caused by the spark bypassing the plug and going down the side of it.

Your right its a tracking mark, is this caused by a dodgy boot?
Got new boots fitted now so hopefully everything is ok.
              Will get proper plugs ordered.
              Thanks for info.

              cheers

                God damn it im good

                Boots should fix that.

As for the loose plug problem, thats a common Bosch problem. Only Bosch plugs seem to suffer this due to the design of the crush washer. Sometimes they need to be retightened after a few k' miles. NGK plugs dont suffer, better washer, ***** plug!

Good spot Tom... I'd be trying colder plugs if anything on a higher boosting engine - there has been a few threads on this subject when I tried to look at alternatives such as Denso Iridium but someone had tried them and found them inferior. The factory plugs perform well even on upgraded setups - just those shiddy washers lets them down.

depends what you want and how it goes. some very good and fair points there too tom. BTDT as you say.

i have had no issues on copper and i know nos boys use copper rather than irid or plat.

the corrado G60 was also a plat car but the best tuner out there sam and danny at sns used copper 99 cent plugs.

as with many things its an opinion and experience game.

incidently how have you got on with the bkr7e's

I had misfires using them, used them for a while in the golf and that started to misfire, changed coilpacks and made no change, put Bosch S2 plugs in it and ran sweet, so i wont use them again.

I have always used G40 Polo plugs in G60's, they are a colder heat range plug.

Sorted the misfire previosly by fitting new boots and NGK plugs but was going to fit newly purchased Bosch plugs today.
Pulling the 4 week old NGK plugs revealed no 2 cylinder electrode is coked up?
Looks like a its not firing right

Swapped the Pos units to see if any different but still lumpy on idle.
Tried removing injector plugs and there is a beat change on every cylinder.
Think the coil pack is maybe gone, its the same one i found coked up with a loose plug when changing out the turbo,
Wouldint mind so much but have it booked for a rolling road tomorrow
Any ideas? maybe a post for a coil pack in the wanted section.
