    Dv placement

Just out of interest does it make much difference if the dumpvalve is placed before or after the intercooler?

I've seen a few people do it after the intercooler and just wondered if there was much difference?

I was told by Jyrki Repo that it's significant for time-attack and insignificant for daily cars

    His theory:

DV at OE location takes air from the beginning of the boost piping so when it opens, the air circulates around the turbo, but there is no movement of air in the boost pipes.
When you open the throttle, you first need to win the momentum of 10 liters of standing air.

If you have blow off next to throttle, you have 200km/h speed in the pipes and IC all the way to the throttle.
When you open the throttle, valve closes and the rush continues to the engine.

Conclusion: yes it makes a difference. You choose if you have a daily or a time-attack car
