Interesting - Would be nice to see how it feels without the RS2 EM.

Does it have the metal headgasket as standard?

Are you going to be monitoring intake temps and EGT? Did you get a display made?

There is a cheap way of at least monitoring intake temps - go and buy a cheapo digital multimeter that has a temp sensor wire - then slip it in the intake boot at the throttle body.

Also listen out for knock - I'm not convinced knock sensors are working in all cars or even all conditions.

I will be careful with knock but my car still wont go right still the same prob low boost between 3 and 4k. I have bought a fuel presure gauge setup which I intend to fit this time home, I have also bought a new Lambda so will try that

Be careful with the headgasket thing too, will cost more to do if it goes..... sorry, when it goes. They wont take much over 300bhp. Trust me. BTDT, it made the turbo coolant pump + rad blow apart and i had to do the headgasket aswell then

I think he is still on the paper and over 400bhp but he seems to be lucky with that!

Very lucky. Its not a good idea, it maybe that mine was weak, but its a common fact 300bhp is the paper limit

Not anymore the engine is now stripped down, however when I took the head off, the gasket was in good condition, I dont know how though, cos some high boost went through them cylinders.

This paper head gasket issue is mainly a problem in 3Bs, not ABY/AAN/ADUs, and I strongly suspect that it has lots to do with the weakness of the ignition system on the 3B. I've had my mate's S4 running 352crank HP and 570 Nm of torque with 1.9 Bar on a paper head gasket, and if he hadn't melted a piston because of his fuel pump that went south, the gasket would still be a gasket today. However, when he took the engine apart, there was no damage to it.

I've also had several other examples of ABY/AANs running very high boost and not having a single head gasket problem...

Just get a full wiring loom/cam cover, coil packs, ECU off of an ABY/AAN/ADU and we'll turn your car into a monschter :-D
