    wastegate diaphragm

I've just replaced my wastegate diaphragm today! I had a right job to get the nut off inside if tho cos there's no way of holding the bolt, I got my dremel out and put a slot for a screwdriver in the bolt and got it off that way, when I inspected the diaphragm it looked fine! absloutley no holes or perishing anywhere so I was sick! I put the new one in obviously and had a go and I couldnt believe it! there's a massive difference! it pulls much harder and I was laughing my head off! I still havent got round to boost leak testing it yet but its next on the list! just letting you's know something goes right for once!

The trick is to CAREFULLY wedge the cap with a screwdriver against the housing so you can undo the top nut...

That'll work - any good source of vacuum is fine... even your own mouth attched to the upper port on the WG cap by a length of silicon tube... should hold vacuum against your tongue for ages unless the diaphragm is leaking.

lol like i said thatl be what pays for three people looking after me when all i want is to get a bolt or summit!!!!
                            1. met in carpark by ever so nice man, asked what they can do for me and told where to park.
                            2. met in showroom by EVER so nice girl and asked what she can do for me, asked to take a seat while thay get a parts man for me.
                            3. offered an assortment of cold or hot drinks by girl
                            4. parts man arrives and escorts me to his desk and again very helpfully locates my part
thats what my 40 quid diaphram is paying for!

WHAT happened to the parts desk with the grease monkey behind it that you could gab to?
